Technology Fellows Information

Funding Opportunity

In the new PT3 grant there is funding for 18 technology
fellows.  We anticipate awarding
6-10 fellowships for the Spring Semester.  We
have been awarded the fellowship money for one year.  It is anticipated that each student receiving a fellowship
will receive $2,000 per semester and work in some area of technology for ten
hours a week within the College of Education. 
Technology Fellows will register for and take a three hour seminar class
co-taught by Drs. Ennis-Cole and Tyler-Wood. 
Technology Fellowships will be awarded by the Fellowship Committee which
will consist of all of the Co-PIs associated with the PT3 grant.

 

Qualifications

Technology Fellows should be
graduate students seeking the doctoral degree in the College of Education. 
Technology Fellows should possess a high level of technology skills and
be willing to either major or minor in the area of Computer Education/Computer
Science.  To apply for the
scholarship, students will submit:

Awardees Responsibilities

Technology Fellows will be
assigned various responsibilities.  Each
Technology Fellow will be paired with a mentor. This mentor will hold graduate
three level faculty status.   It
is anticipated that some Technology Fellows could assist their mentor teacher
with determining effective methods of integrating technology into the
curriculum.  Faculty could model
effective teaching strategies for the Technology Fellows and the Technology
Fellows could aid faulty with integrating appropriate technology into various
courses.  Technology Fellows could
staff a technology lab where faculty could receive assistance with various
computer programs.  Technology
Fellows could also assist faculty with planning small group instruction within
the lab. 

 

Awards

Each member of the awards team
will complete a scoring rubric rating each applicant. After completing the
rubric the awards team will meet and discuss each candidate. 
Awards will be based on a juried team decision. 
The awards team will assist each successful applicant with identifying an
appropriate mentor.  Faculty willing
to work with a Technology Fellow should submit a request to Dr. Ennis-Cole or
Dr. Tyler-Wood
